Yipin Enters the Political Fray
We are happy to report that Ken Welker, Yipin’s Midwest Regional Sales Manager, was recently appointed to the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute’s (ICPI) Government Relations Committee.
Founded in 1993, the ICPI is the premier North American trade association representing the interlocking concrete paving industry. Comprised of more than 900 member companies, the ICPI engages in a wide range of activities in the technical, marketing, educational, government relations and communications fields. Its Government Relations Committee was established with the primary goal of establishing itself as the voice of the pavement industry at the local, state, and federal level. To that end, it actively lobbies on issues directly impacting the industry. Their current priorities include, Permeable Pavements Provisions in the Transportation Reauthorization bill, Green Transportation Infrastructure R&D, EPA Green Infrastructure Initiative, and Silica Regulation, as well as general business issues, including Tax Policy, Labor Issues, and Immigration Policy.
For those of you who have not met Ken, let’s just say that he is the perfect candidate to bring our industry’s voice to the Committee. Ken joined Yipin last August, and brought with him over 20 years’ experience in the industry, in addition to previous involvement with the ICPI. Given the challenges faced by the pigment industry, Ken brings not only the experience but also a passion for pigments that will lead the Government Relations Committee to adopt those policies that will create to a level playing field, and we are grateful for his contributions. Ken will serve on the committee through April 2019.
We encourage all of our customers to reach out to Ken and provide your valuable input. He can be reached at ken@yipinusa.com.
Congratulations Ken!
